I have been a Xen user since just before the first official Debian packages from Adam Heath appeared. Today I run my own 2.6.11 make-kpkg images from unofficial Debian Xen source packages available on my Sarge gateways (APT::Default-Release "stable";). Like many, I started with the Xen packages available from Debian, purged them, and made the switch to Xen packages available from Edward Despard (clarkson.edu sources) for his Google Summer of Code project.

Purging is key before the upgrade. Once I had started the upgrade without purging I ended up in a partially upgraded state, after which the package post-inst/uninst scripts were a headache running from Dom0 for me, and reverting to a non-Xen kernel and not starting any Xen rc scripts was the only way I was able to avoid script errors from preventing a clean purge.

The clarkson.edu sources have disappeared, and I have found the option-c.com sources here, and am contemplating the switch. My concern is that the sources here are dated Aug 4th, with version 2.0.7-1. Compare this to dates in my existing Edward Despard Debian changelog below, or Ralph Passgang's changelog below, and I am not sure the option-c.com sources are as up-to-date. I am not sure which source to go to.
